She spoke in tones too harsh
For such a lovely woman dressed so nice,
But it was the tones not the word
That cursed never using the same word twice.

I wondered,
Mused to myself about her,
What vileness
Had so violently brought this mild inspire.

But far too soon
Her passage was made across the ground
In crowded venue
Too soon out of sight and out of sound.

So you must be reporting on another! I liked this... And I really like the title!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
