Comingaround

Comin' 'round, the embers of sundown
cast a fiery rain over this town
just the faintest scent of where she's been
what she feels, where and when
I get the information
thumb through a thesaurus
to name the sensation
of the picture tearing in two
with one who seeks something new
and one who doesn't know what to do

Comin' round, always so oblivion-bound
my heart echoes a memory sound
the magic and art that lives within
but somewhere in her, a light grows dim
I'm snared in her dreams
pricking my fingers to rose pink
to sew up the seams
of my bruised apple self-defense
scatter the seeds of common sense
what's the matter with my confidence?

Comin' round eventually to safe and sound
bending the unbendable frown
hopping from feeling to crazed feeling
thriving only from her healing
I'm not frightened of alone
but I'm finding fear in the idea
of you never coming home
so c'mon, look back into these eyes
find whatever first made you realize
you loved me
come around and see
I'm comingaround to set us free

I really liked the honest feelings in this Zach.  Much enjoyed.
