This morning I woke and saw my bare head,
I looked in the mirror and felt half dead.
The pain in my bones is crippling sometimes,
To distract myself I play with rhymes.
The porcelain god and I have become quite close,
The doc says my body can't take another dose.
My loved ones look with pity in their eyes,
But I am at peace deep inside.
I crack a joke to ease the stress,
Somtimes it's hard I must confess.
Grasping hope I go on with life,
come hell or high water and any strife.
The hits keep coming but here I stand,
I really can't complain. My life's been grand.
I've got four kids of my own,
Whose tears I simply won't condone.
There's two stip kids who call me mom,
Who'll dress the girls for their first prom?
I am convince my counts will go right,
I'm too damn stubborn to give up this fight.
I refuse to stop living and raising my kids,
Until this life vehemently forbids.

This...aches. I understand all too well, though not from a personal POV.
In caring for others while undergoing chemo and/or radiation, I am amazed at how resilient some are
And how incredibly difficult it must be to be tied to that porcelain god while you are parenting!
I send you thoughts for healing and strength.
And if this is for someone else, may they receive these best wishes!

Dear friend,

I am slipping in during lunch to tell you that you are in my thoughts.  I, too, won't shed tears - you might bop on me if I do.  We have shared much during these years that we have grown as people and friends -- some tears, much laughter.  Sometimes months go by and we don't speak, but always, always you are my friend.  I remember reading something you wrote long ago and thinking -- yes, she is a person I want to get to know.  And I have.  I am lucky.

I'll keep thinking of you, sending positive thoughts - and loving you.  You are my friend.

Alison

Midnitesun, I appreciate your thoughts and wishes... they mean a lot and they do greatly help.

Alison, you know how I feel about you and our friendship.  I think so often of you when I am unable to log on for a spell.  I thought of you last night and giggled myself senseless thinking on some of the things we have shared and the humor you always pull out of me when I'm at my worst. I am blessed to call you friend.

JamesMichael, thank you for your feedback, I do feel grateful for your comments.

LeeJ, thank you as well for your thoughts and prayers... and I don't go anywhere easily if it's not where I wish to be
