         SUMMER ‘FALLing’

        [hints of change and
         memories of the
         Salisbury plain;
         'Stonehenge’; and
          'crop circles']

As the late-summer twilight breeze
  subsides
in a lingering after-scent of pine,
(with hints of Autumn’s frost-tipped
  wonders)
we may grasp the final thimbleful
of crystalline stellar-dreams,
and scan the endless, taciturn skies
to spot a cosmic turn of cogs,
(or a page in eternity’s infinite ledger)
which might confirm some universal
  ‘purpose’ in us,
or reveal a grand galactic compass
to point a far ‘different and better way’,
and yet…
the finest ‘voice’ (and answers)
may lie still…within ourselves
  or our horizons,
in the grand and timeless artistry
of Gaia’s gentle ‘agriglyphs’
speaking humbly…quietly…indelibly...
to only those hearts and minds
  and spirits
with the kindest ‘sense and
  sensibility’…
to truly ‘listen’!

BRAVO! some day, I will sit within
an agriglyph, immerse myself in cosmic cog(cog-nizance).

sssssssssssshhhhhhhh (I'm not here, okay?)

But it's a such a lovely place to be right now, I can't resist.

Reading your work reminds me, that perhaps I should slow down...

The only thing that I wasn't sure of was a few of the parenthetical phrases--but I use those alot too--I'm just curious, because in my head, I read paranthetical as a "whisper"--whereas in this poem, they didn't read as afterthought at all.

In fact, they read as emphasis. (But hey, I ain't no expert--so consider that idle curiousity, not criticism)

And I can wait for Autumn now--once upon a time I'd say I couldn't--but I have learned hard lessons about wanting.

Thanks for sharing. Much enjoyed the cool breeze.

not that there is necessarily any good (nor 'valid') reason for it, but I tend to use
ellipses [...] when I hope to tempt the reader to take a somewhat longer pause
[for more careful thought perhaps] than just a comma might suggest; and, I use
the parentheses around phrases that I feel are somewhat like 'asides' [additional
information or images not necessarily 'absolutely essential' to the poem; etc.]

DreamPoet, this is simply marvelous. Can't find one part I like better than another -- it's all grand!
