(Hey everyone! Here's a new summer song for y'all to enjoy, as well as a new picture to continue my new New Picture Of Me Every Week to make up for roughly five years of new picture inactivity, LOL!)

Macadamia Academia
By: Noah Eaton
8/8/07

Hermosa Jinkerson graduated from Dartmouth,
got herself a masters degree in English,
graduating “Class of 2006” as the valedictorian,
thought about becoming an art historian,
she always fantasized about studying abroad,
she just couldn’t ever afford it, so she sat in awe,
living vicariously through “Caprice’s Travels”,
trekking on something more exotic than Piedmont gravel,
sipping papaya nectar from a crazy straw,
or a piping hot kava guava java on Guam.

Oh, but soon all that chewing gum and duct tape,
she exerted since her freshman days paid off yesterday,
when she received the Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship,
in Tropical Ornamental Horticulture that made her flip,
affording any graduate student an opportunity,
to study at a leading foreign institution overseas,
so wasting no time, indecisively with her hand,
she grabbed a dart and threw it at her world map,
and before she knew it she left Pensacola,
and woke up in a thatch shack down in Tortola.

She now knows what makes blue orchids bloom,
why the bird of paradise croons each afternoon,
she’s got the zest of a Tahitian milkmaid,
studying the flora and fauna along Cane Garden Bay,
she knows every confession of each coconut grove,
why each first night of the full moon is a treasure trove,
now her life is free of spiritual anemia,
cuz this beach bunny sure knows her macadamia academia!

She listens up on island gossip at the Rongorongo Room,
all that Pokop Kambang, all that Bali ballyhoo,
she’s a walking, hula-dancing tide pool almanac,
loves to share her fruit baskets with the macaques,
leading loggerhead turtle conservation efforts on Tonga,
having a thoroughly combed beach has become her dogma,
she buys her okolehao at Hasegawa General Store,
she’s cited Trader Vic as her main mentor,
does her studying on Motu Tapu under her beach umbrella,
she even knows how to spell zooxanthellae!

She knows all the secrets of the Lemurians,
and the truth to every myth on Easter Island,
she’s learned to speak every native island tongue,
must have been born with south sea island magic in her blood,
she researches marine biology with Devon Wildlife,
tourists get more out of her than Frommer’s Travel Guide,
she spends her free time picking pineapples on Lanai,
she’s as native to the islands as the Kamehameha butterfly.

This beach bunny sure knows,
her macadamia academia!

Awwwwww, thanks Maureen!

Here's a full picture of that same hydrangea bush for you to enjoy as well, yay!

Oh James, I absolutely agree about Polynesian dancers in general. I especially admire how they preserve their unique, ancient cultures wholeheartedly, from Hawaii to Tokelau, as well as their multicultural zest for life, through their arts and humanities.

Thank you both, yay!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Well, pip's angel boy has grown into a handsome Angel Man! ~ Wearing his traditional tie-dye and ever-faithful sandals! An interesting 'trip' it would be for anyone to walk a mile in your sandals!

I'm a big fan of hydrangeas. Are those in the photo on your property? They're glorious!

I enjoyed every aspect of this post! ~ Especially the photo of you!

Loving hug,
Linda
