It's mid august
but i felt the Fall today
as branches sighed
in solidarity

2 leafs, yellow, wandered
to no specific destination
and the retro sky redeemed
all that knelt before it

and i braced myself
fearing

i may never
get to know you.

Oh, the ending took my breath away.
I felt time, in silent motion.

Goddess, Kahlil expressed my sentiments, exactly! Exquisitely expressed emotions with an economy of words. I feel your poetry. It is wonderful to see you sharing your talent with us again!

Giving you a warm and loving, welcome-home hug,

EA

well done ma'am....

I watched a few leaves fall as well...

and know time passes... sometimes with dread and sometimes with regrets... sometimes unmarked...

I like the possible meanings.. the option the reader has..of drawing layers into it or simply enjoying it for the surface level...

This is so well worded and yes, has different meanings to different people. I sense we need take the time, to get to know  others close to us, before it is too late.
Thank you, "late"

The season was he, refusing to be forgotten, offering days that were short and memories, promising to return and again feel the kiss of happiness and the warmth of a lover who awaits his return. Each season special as the life we share.

Enjoyed your words my friend, thank you for sharing.

.

Michele,

It's a good poem
A woman's poem . . .
yet a good poem

John

PS I would like, with your permission,
to add this to my Word file of poems by others.
If yes, what name do I give the author?
