Listening to every heart

Remember

This flowering rose sweetly smells of spice
Awakening senses, I nose it thrice
Tilt its nectar, capture its remember
That I might indulge, come cold December

Such detail: a spider's web, tightly bound,
Swiftly, follow silk spirals all around
As if seen in multi-petal'd flower
Then one might locate one’s central bower...

It buds blood red, then blue purples its hue
Then, by faith, succumbs to its deepest true
Its scent dwells clear, deeper in one’s lone mind
A greater gift, one should not look to find.

Summer, linger or leave, ‘tis no matter
This remembered scent shall not be tattered.

If I Remember that I hope it's on my death bed...so I won't feel so bad about leaving. One two three one two three one two three...repeat that for 24 hours then try again.

Dear Sissie

So lovely!  To inhale a fregrance thus, is to remember where one was and also proof that everything continues in some way or form.  Perhaps that is the essence of faith.

I've heard that scent is the strongest memory... taking us back effortlessly. *S* I like this so very much... especially the closing couplet!

"It buds blood red, then blue purples its hue"

Karilea

I have a nose memory of purple roses
sent when last it was cold
they were sprinkled with fairy dust

you have reminded me
of winter love

so different from the summer kind
