from underneath the willow

from underneath the willow
you dance for me
ephemeral vision
stilling my heart - already cold

your laughter mimics
staccato beat of evening cicadas
and I stretch to catch
one more moment
till all is lost
in moonlight’s sorrow

withered pink petals
lay in disarray

roses on your grave
unnourished
by mother’s tears

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

Oh my Ruth!  It is like you wrote this for me this evening.  I was in a very strange mood remembering my friend, Willow, and here this was.  I shall claim it even if it is not mine if you don't mind.  Take care dear lady.

Sharon...since this piece just 'came to me' perhaps it indeed was written for you so is yours to claim

I thought of Sharon's Willow too--if she would share that beach pic of the two of them, I'm sure you would understand all the more, Ruth.

This is a lovely, if haunting write. I'm glad the sadness isn't a personal pain for you--more from you, please?

You are quite simply one of the most gracious romantic writers here.

As I read the opening line,
I also thought, "this is for"
and then there was
Mysteria...

as it should be, always, and forever more,
every willow I see,
reminds me of
   her friend.

If Mys reads this note, then I hope
she will re-embrace her friend again,
and repost Willow here,

for our newest members.

For if nothing else, we are encircled, such.

Thank you, Ruth...
for bringing this to all.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Sharon, if you venture past this way again, please share you picture of Willow with us all
