...everything I write, I have learned on your lips...

So this is love
at the lower altitudes of the deep South,
receding into Rorschach’s
of charred pumice
and a sweet incoherence of tears
lodged in the blue membranes,
something of death descends
the dark end of a sullen spectrum,
and down in deep facets
I am led each night
to that drowning place, listen
to this white hot silence, listen
as the panthers come
to inhabit my lungs, muffled
in the dark throes
of this monster, the body, this miracle
of indigo tears sting the throat
as it tightens on the heart stems,

God, sometimes my body just breaks down, trembling...

in this, our wilderness
at the lower altitudes
of the Deep South,
a dark Sabbath descends,
though, in your eyes, I find
a threshold back into beauty's arms,
and so this is love.

Very good write.

I like this part

in this, our wilderness
at the lower altitudes
of the Deep South,
a dark Sabbath descends,

...everything I write, I have learned on your lips...

When I read that in one of your responses, I knew it had to be part of a poem... either one already written... or one yet to be. *S*

Stunningly beautiful write!!

suthern~

thanks for taking a peek at this...and yes...I am often moved to write at the smallest, silliest things...a phrase...a song...a lampshade...lol....

Thanx again for stopping to read this~
