Dream Series 1:4 Tinman's Coil Of Rusted Dreams

So night flays the strands of dream
And softened fibers twisted become
As pythons of cedar to wrap around
The bare dejection that comes
When in an isolation of restrained proximity
Loose ends loom above
Anticipating the fall that bruises
Fair skinned faith though such braids
As are coiled around
Become embraced

So little light to see
The juxtaposition of images
Drawn with short strokes of breath
That moan to empty air
Filled with flaming broom

Touch not the dark hem or douse the fire
But let it burn
Lest we melt upon stone
In some lucid puddle of screams

Loose, Loose ends of bark stripped bare
These dark woods dare stiff hands
To lose the grip of rust and move
To tie knots again along slim throated moon
with eyes lowered from an ominous sky
Where genetic mutants grow wings
swinging too with free fingers
Along branches gnarled
These the turn of dream

I toss uneasily upon sharp straw dressed as logic
To ease the ache of joints too long
Unmoved
And let the dream begin
Amidst the copse of sumac strung red
But still
Return to the winding coils as bind
My reach incomplete
And die a soft exhale of loss
As I see her there
Finding courage for a lion
she sweeps up debris from storms that raged
When she thought she was alone

She could not huddle there
Or bind the ends of us to her lust
So comes forgetfulness
As it rains upon hollow tin
Filled only with the echoes of counting
One beat
Two
Two beat three
In slow throb of memory

She closed her eyes and tried not to hear

How close the heart she had given him
to breaking once yet
again

Oh, how we have missed you, my friend.

And just yesterday, your poetry was spoken of,
and how we might wish you back.

Someone must have heard us.

I cannot say I enjoyed this, as I was indeed mezmorized and had to read it several times....going back for another yet closer look

Finding courage for a lion
she sweeps up debris from storms that raged
When she thought she was alone

She could not huddle there
Or bind the ends of us to her lust
So comes forgetfulness
As it rains upon hollow tin
Filled only with the echoes of counting
One beat
Two
Two beat three
In slow throb of memory

(sighs)

marvelous writing!!!!!! Gripping and sad...

That your words would be missed sir would be a mystery?  Oh...but that they would not be would  be would be more of a mystery...How could they not be??  What a lovely treat to feast our eyes upon your words.  So good to see you here today, sir.

I dropped in to read for a few minutes..
and could not believe my eyes..still can't.
Is it really you?

Don't answer that..
Your impeccable writing gives you away.
It is SO good to read you once again.

Dear Ron....there is no time, it seems...as if words could just skip across years and turn them into this minute, this poem, and the man who wrote them, the poet...as always thought filled.  I'm so glad to be able to read you still, and again!

My memory is longer than yours.

Congrats, bbg--I didn't even see your lips move, and for a minute there?

I wanted to.

I'm good...thanks for asking.

I can still feel the wind and your lips that day on the beach...

Don't hurt anyone else.

guess you already knew what words might fall upon this page in reply to such an offering from your mighty quill
too long, spatter, too long....
(juxtapositioning is fun) you've been a wayfaring stranger

I thank you all...for the indulgence..of allowing me to drop in after such a long absence...

I thank you all, for the kind words..and for the mild scoldings.... both show some level of care..enough to be kind to my clumsy words and enough to remind me I may have hurt people when I left....

my time these days... very limited it seems.. and life, more complicated than simple....
I can not say..I will stay or that I can visit day to day...
I can say..I am touched by all the replies.. and the kindness of you all...

thank you again.... and again.... and again....

I peeked onto PIP a few days ago... and though I didn't have time to open even a single poem... I left with my heart doing its very best jig... because I saw your name. *S*

And considering the fact that I can't dance worth diddly... does that tell you how much you've been missed??? *S*

It's a slice of pure heaven to lose myself in your words again...

Suthern... m'friend..it is so nice to see you..to know you peeked in..
now I can not comment on your dancing ability... but my words a slice of heaven to read.. now ma'am... you use the phrase very losely I am sure... they are more a case of wading through hades to find ice water I think...

hope you are well... and the world has been kind t you..

I must disagree, kind sir. *S* Your words may be as welcome as that glass of ice water after a wade through hades... but I know a slice of heaven when I read one... even if I have been tossed out of that blissful haven on my (r)ear and refused readmission. *G*

If you ever have a few free moments, send an email my way. *S* As for how I am... John Mellancamp's song "Jack and Diane" sums it up "life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone." *G*

Take care, master of words. *S*
