Tie a string around the thought and anchor it to the door
Close it, slam it, pull it,  I implore.

My fingers have applied themselves to keyboards of two types,
Yet, stirrings remain, and empty is their plight;
Grinding scales repeat themselves;
Evasive, the expressive sound.
Something in there, a nerve the thought has found.

Pull this recessed tooth, as it declines its leave,
That a tooth fairy can exchange it
for a goal and dream.

Okay! But make sure it's under your pillow misce'.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry,

Do you think she'll/he'll give me a penny for my thoughts?   Sure hope the fairy will compensate me for inflation!

Enjoyed hearing from you again.  I hope all is well.

So now you'll give up your goal and dream for a penny! What happened did you lose faith in your 'tooth' fairy? Yes all is exceptionally well. Especially if we don't have to talk about the cardiologist!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry,

Would I give them up for a penny?  Well, first I'd have to find them!  No, not for a cent.  I miss whatever it is that I miss!  I'm glad to hear you are exceptionally well.
As for the cardiologist, I won't speak of him for he must already know that you are a man of true heart and one of the best!

hugs,
misce

I ain't a tied person, although learning abit about it, but tooth to doorknob sounds painful.  Thats why the have novocain.  The other pains you can tie to need stronger stuff.

~*~

My friend,
who sat at my piano
and played a lovely tune...

I sat in your spot
the other day, and heard something coming
from my fingertips through
the keyboard

and the accompanying strings...

something I did not know I had in me,
and no wrong note in the bunch...

but it fluttered only briefly,
awaiting another dream.

This was a nice read Miscellanea. Wonderful imagery in this one.  I actually have to play the tooth fairy tonight.  I'll put a dollar under your pillow too.

Enjoyed the read, misce!  Yep - I'd also pull a tooth in exchange for a goal and dream if only, if only, the tooth fairy was real.

Just wanted to thank Everyone for your kind
responses.  Usually, I'm a pretty upbeat person, but somehow I've gotten offbeat lately.  I'll turn it around soon.  Thanks for taking time to say hi.

Well, well, well, misce! I happen to know a fairy or two in my heavenly line of work! I can ask one of them to fly your way and all your dreams will come true ~ and you won't even have to part with a tooth!

Enjoyed your poem. You are innovatively creative in your poetic expressions!

Loving hug,
EA

Very captivating imagery, dear misc!

Sometimes so much depends on whether or not we are able to "tie a string around the thought". To recede quickly can be of highest importance!

Reaching out with a big hug.

Love,
Margherita
