Darling daughter of my heart

open is the cage that kept me locked

notice how my freedom is your door

ever in my heart needs nothing more

An open cage frees us from that which holds us captive. There is so much beauty, strength, and freedom in your loving words. Through your poetry, Michelle lives on, not only for those who loved and knew her, but for those who have come to know her through you.

Love & Eternal Light,

Linda

Through the sadness, I feel love's reconciliation.

And that, my dear Queen of Poetry, is the art of your poetry.

Still my hero, you are.

Martie,

Your title, "Done" reminds me that after the setting sun, still comes the beautiful sunrise.   She will shine in her love and freedom, as do you.

love and hugs,

Oh my! Martie, I really like this. The title provides even greater meaning to the write. She is forever young and forever precious indeed.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Dear Martie - this is so very tender in its strength and knowing.  Distance can never part those who love and Michelle has enabled you to be proof of that for those who need such proof.

Only when we come close to halving in on the circle, do we realize what we have gone through, as if looking through our days' memories with field glasses, backwards.

You've brought Michelle full circle, among a family of friends, and some friends who became family.

However, and I know this to be true, she isn't through leaving you love letters. Not just yet.

And it is my hope that you will continue to share them, even if this written, "Done".

For no child of heart
is ever left behind.

Dear Friends...

thank you so much for these warm responses.  I want you to know that Michelle will always be in my heart, and I know I will still be moved to write of her for that reason.  This poem was written as a statement of freedom from the power of mourning.  It has been clamped on my heart for a very long time.  It is time to set her spirit free from that grasp...as well as mine.  Love that lets go, is love that has no worry of loss, only knowledge that love will continue.

Thank you for loving her with me, and bringing her into this family as a true child of life.  It's been my pleasure to share her in my poems.  I have no doubt that there will be more.

You've at last emerged from that prison that grief held you in for so many years. The love will always be there... will never fade... but I'm so glad the pain is losing its grip. I'm betting Michelle is smiling at this! *S*
