Between the Lines

Within Time

When I see you there
I wonder your thoughts,
if they mirror mine
or are they embedded even deeper
into the silver behind.

Time passes and yet
it seems like yesterday when
we walked hand in hand
down to the stream
where the trickling
drowned out the quickness
of my heart
in beating thoughts anew.

I've hardened to the fears,
those that don't pretend the yearning.
Challenged by the aging of hope
and the knowledge that time
has its own moments
most of which...
hold you within.

effectively emotive 'write'!

I found the following lines of
particular interest:

"I've hardened to the fears,
those that don't pretend the yearning.
Challenged by the aging of hope..."

[not just 'aging' but potential 'demise' of
  hope!]...

"There is no 'death' worse than the loss
  of all hope"

applause!!

Thank you for the read and responses...I am
long term subbing at the moment and with school opening this week, I have little time to be online except to check in once in a while.

Oh, I loved this part Maureen,

"trickling
drowned out the quickness
of my heart"

Wonderful visual/sound to light this mind's eye. I enjoyed this.

Best wishes,
/Kit
