A cast off, and one tossed
by indecision and need -
we agreed to meet
to try and figure it out.

A long conversation -
exploring, relating, exchanging
information and intention
in observations of the weather.

About nothing and everything,
spilling and adsorbing
mutual relief in sharing -
wanting to believe in ourselves.

And then, tentative
the dance of touch,
the song of sighs,
in a circle of comfort.

Acceptance
regardless of the damage -
or perhaps because of it.
Wanting to heal, be healed.

An unusual tenderness
considering the situation.
I think we both expected
something different.

Driving home unfulfilled,
but relieved and buoyed.
There is an offer pending -
he tasted of oranges.

BBGrrl, I enjoyed this read, kept me thinking all the way through, two people trying to work out each other, finding by sharing deep thoughts they become closer and almost intimate, leaving thoughts of maybe and could be.
The taste of oranges quite a peal ing
Thanks for sharing.

Smell and taste, Bronze - I am most reptilian in my response.  And your responses are most valued.

Thank you Rick - both for your intuitive comment and for the little bit of pun-shine. *grin*

I very much enjoy reading you..

and this one especially..as I am the same...you can ask me a time/situation and I can give you the smell/taste that goes with it....
