--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What failed
to grow
of sinister frost
on a summer lawn

the golden rose
aborted

to the top
of that hill
i ran

giddy
and barefooted

crowned
by the sun's
pirouette

high
on the
glow

of your unsolicited
promise

gathering petals
i longed to bring
to you

i arrived
unaware of

how many
had already fallen

Thrilled to see your words here again.
The way your style just falls on the page, gives such a feeling of petals falling from the blooms of summer.

Difficult emotions to put on the page, but you did very well here.

By the time I arrived unaware of so many petals had fallen
I could only stand and stare at the ground so beauty laden
If sooner I’d walk this path there would have been a bloom’s beauty
But it’s still there in aftermath to reconstruct what I didn’t see

thanks for the inspiration
