The sun is scoarching hot, and I can feel hte makeup sweat off my face. I guess hours of preparing to look good for you seems meaningless, yet I'm glad i took the time to look nice. You grasp my hand like a father would grasp his daughter's, oh so gently but with a sense of strength and power that makes me feel protected. I step onto the board like a prisoner would step onto a plank of a pirate ship, yet I am not afraid. We move and the wind kisses my face as we glide. You remove your hand from mine to be replaced under my chin, I guess you realized that i was looking down. I'm hesitant to look up for I might come in contact with your dark chocolate brown eyes. You say that you hate them, yet I'm completely captured by them. It's funny how people have such different opinions. Sometimes when we are together, i tremble and worry because the fact that you might leave me is more painful than i can bare. Flashbacks of me crying while sitting against my bedroom wall comes to mind and slaps me in the face like an abusive mother to her child. The words "I love you" has grown to be meaningless and repetitive due to the fact I've heard it from all the guys i've ever dated. Yet whenever those words waltz from your mouth, it is beautiful and makes me want to cry. You make even the stupidest moments one of the best days of my life. We watch boring movies, yet just by you being next to me, the atmosphere around me becomes warm and light and i feel like i can fly. Whenever your lips come in contact with mine, goosebumps appear from my skin rapidly and in great numbers. I close my eyes because nothing i could see could be as mesmerizing as the way i feel. |
