.

The fox looks on
As woodchucks nibble alfalfa
A cardinal sings of summer things
While sparrows circle an old red barn

In the next field the corn
Is almost six feet high
Yellow tasseled in the sun

Young chicks
Behind their mother hens
Pecking for seeds
In a narrow yard

From a loft
Above it all

Two grey striped kittens
Wide eyed with bright pink noses
Peering out into the blue

.

My granddaughter says, "That rocks!"   and, so does her gramma.
