Each night, as I lay you to sleep,
you kiss my eyes, and then my cheeks.
We sing of bitsy spiders and li'l twinkled stars,
-and I think-
do you know how beautiful you are?

I'm often scared I'll lose you someday,
It's proven a feeling that won't go away.
To live a life without your embrace,
-it would be-
like never seeing God's tender face.

Sweet Caelin, I love you a thousand times over,
a love as rare as the sweetest white clover.
And every fear that I've ever had,
-simply disappears-
When you say "I love you dad."

we always fear losing our children

I have felt this with my two girls

growing older and into their own lives, making their own ways to travel...

wonderful poem that shows the love you feel so well

This poem really allowed me to come to terms with the fears that accompany the love one has for their children. But each time I re-read it, I feel a little more at peace about those fears.
Thank you
