A Little Privacy In Want

Beneath the clouds
the truth of you lays upon my heart.
There, a tapestry of yesterdays
where we built castles in the sand.
You have become my poet's weapon,
replacing the silver lining
that only dreams can hold,
and the price for loving, seeding a dream,
breathing in titles that comfort thoughts
that drift into forever and into the passing of time.

Beneath the cover, I fear the illusions,
the puzzle of never knowing,
wanting to fill the darkness with twilight's song
and opening up to the reason for being.
You capture my mind and body,
leaving a trail of touch that intensifies
in missing you, waiting for the words
from lips that whisper only
before tomorrow comes~~
and cradles me in warmth.

I am particularly fond of:

“a tapestry of yesterdays”

AND:

“…trail of touch”

I would dearly love to find/understand that
‘reason for being (!)’…and,

I had thought that the only “poet’s weapon” was the
‘sparks’ created by striking word against word
in a Quixotic attempt to illuminate the darkness
of humanity…if only for a little while!

Applause!!

The words were whispered to my heart
And warmth became my friend
The pen and I then joined as one
And will until the end
