Contemporary haibun is a combination of prose and haiku poetry, sometimes described as 'a narrative of epiphany'. Like English haiku, English haibun is evolving as it becomes more widely practiced in the English speaking world.

COMMUNITY

Soft the curves that wend back and forth on a country road. A line of barb following the contours, not to keep travelers out, but to contain that stray cow with a wandering eye. Clear are the grassy ditches of a human's trash for the folks here take pride in their small part of the County and treat it with respect accordingly. No room for the civilized world to enter here, unless on foot. It is a hiker's paradise and the believer’s altar. For the villagers who live in wrinkled, small and like cottages, at the end of the road on cobbled paths it is all they have, and all they need. There is much joy in this hamlet of sameness where no ill-will finds a home to reside. Much comfort in a tiny community that knows well the secret, the solace of a safe haven, shared friendships and hearts, and where lack does not mean want.

Such serenity
Within the circle of less
Which has so much more.

Very interesting, Spirit. I'll have to dig
into the world of our internet and learn
a little.  Thanx for sharing.

This flows so well.  I really enjoyed the way you described things so eloquently.  Well done.
