Love Letters

clouds write
love letters
across the sky
today rain is silent
for a moment
where yesterday
it was broken deeply
yet every single drop
of it remembers
life is a flight
some days without wings
there were conversations
listening to you talk
it was almost more
than I could take
tear stained face sat silent
…waiting for you to stop
now sometimes late at night
when light is dim
and no one else
can hear my breath
and even though
it has been awhile
I silently
hold a torch
for you

"no darkness has ever been deep enough to extinguish my personal knowledge of love"  Anne Rice

Incredible imagery!  I don't think I'll look at clouds or rain the same after reading your exquisite poem.  Every line, a masterpiece...I wish I could grasp my feelings and write like this!

There are a few poets that have such vision they make me see differently... I'm grateful for them... you are one of them...

Guess they're always good. You still rock, IMHO!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I just love dropping back in and reading your stuff Helen. It is like the breeze after a cool rain.

Helen,
I know you write your heart. And is spills ink arranged indelibly in my heart. It always creates an emotional impact. And then it makes me worry about you. This was wonderful, so very wonderful.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is a MOST fine ‘write’!

I am especially fond of:

“clouds write
love letters
across the sky”;

”today rain is silent…

where yesterday…

every single drop
…remembers
life is a flight
some days without wings…”

AND:

“when light is dim
and no one else
can hear my breath…

I silently
hold a torch
for you(!)”

serious, sustained applause!!
