I am in despair
lost in a maze of darkness and uncertainty.
I'm at the start
but I can already see you at the end
and in between that
right in the center
is where we disintegrate,
where barriers will come between us,
where we are stuck.
Motionless.
Never to be found again.
I cling to the ground
I would crawl through dirt to find you,
struggle through the weeds of our misfortunes
and see us flower once more.

But that will never be.

Nothing lasts forever
and as I see you at the other end
I run with all my might
knowing that my energy is wasted,
I will only come to a halt.
The truth comes to me in raindrops
coming fast
scattering over me
washing away my delusions.

I have been here before.

I shout your name
desperately
You won't hear.
Besides why am I wasting my voice
on silly little fantasies?
on dreams that can never materalize
thoughts that I can never dare say.

I stop
take a breath,
wipe away a tear of realisation
and turn back.
Back to reality
where I should have stayed all along.

You see my dear
I had seen the end
before we had even begun.

Sad...I can relate to this...I agree that all relationships will have an end...but if you can see the end before its time...and who knows that time...you will not enjoy the moment...to enjoy the moment is enjoying a relationship to its fullest...James
