dancing 'neath the moon

(running to and dashing fro,
the games begin and here we go.
Tag, you're it!  The chase begins,
your turn to start has come again)

Midnight whispers taunt and tease
promising to play and please
a hand's caress upon smooth skin
a plea to be admitted in

just once more, to say goodbye,
always said ---- always a lie.
forever bound by love, they know
they'll say goodbye, but never go

(three steps forward, four steps back
cast the line, reel in the slack
one fish, two fish, I wish, you wish
we could end this game of go fish)

digits dance down silken thigh,
against an ear, a breath of sigh,
fingers first and then the thumbs
print the throat as she succumbs

to her need and his desire,
eyes ablaze and flesh a'fire,
rough n'tumble games they play
to keep emotions locked away

(two steps up, dodge to the side,
the pawns will take it all in stride.
castle over, guard the crown,
the queen has come, he takes her down)

he pulls her tight against his chest,
his snoring signals peaceful rest.
Release of fear in sleep he finds
and only then can speak his mind,

his murmured love words pierce the dark.
On flesh and soul they've left their mark.
Held in his arms, she prays that he
will beat, this time, the urge to flee

(I'll count 10, you run and hide,
When you give chase, I'll step aside,
Hide & Seek, then Keep-away
What lonely things, these games we play)

You even managed to create the rhythm of going back and forth, to qnd fro, with the structure of your poem.

Oh, the games that lovers can play! ~ and you did a fine job or writing about them.

Darlin' dear

You hooked, lined and sinkered me right into this.  I love it.  I am your #1 fan - and when I grow up - I want to be just like you (never grown up and ever so talented!).

I love you

Hi Sheli, I thought this was so well done, I enjoyed every line, it was like a song, I was near tapping my feet. The mind is a wonderful thing to bring out such splendor and I thank you for sharing it today, there is true talent in your pen my friend.

Very much enjoyed a truth many experience and the playful approach you gave to a situation that might not be so comfortable!  Great imagery and rhythm.

Rick, You are a doll, thank you My muse
flits through every once in a while and gives
me something worth posting.  I'm happy
you enjoyed it!

miscellanea, I've missed seeing you around
the blue when I buzz through.  It's an uncomfy
situation, to be sure, but giving it a playful
spin has always made it easier to bear
Thanks for the read, and the sweet comment!
