Putting You Away

Now that you have chosen to go
away and leave me alone with my
thoughts and spent emotions,
perhaps I'll spend the rest
of my life missing you.
Or will I, for at this moment
I have no way of knowing
my state of mind as my future
gains its time to unwind,
and its more than likely
instead of always missing you
that I'll meet someone new
and she'll take my thoughts
from you, and then perhaps
I'll put you away for good.
