third house down on Overbrook Road
in a little town called Leawood,

the number often slips my mind
so I go in search only
when I'm in need of my previous addresses
for employment applications
for jobs I'm not qualified for

I wonder why I bother at all

because most times, I don't even consider it
actually an address of mine,
having lived so briefly there, where
I learned one of life's hardest lessons

there's no place like home

Indeed...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

there's one address I don't even bother mentioning or do I want to remember..it too taught me the hardest lesson I've had to learn so far...good to read you again Dixie

well sometimes the good jobs just take a while to get..keep on applying though and calling and checking up on them to show you really want the job.

Yes Dixie,  definitely a "soul" write as The
Lady pointed out.  You are in your zone,
crunching some big numbers.

Passing, you're a People's Poet. Your readers can always find something that they can identify with.

You're real ~ and so is your poetry.

Loving hug,

Linda
