Driven by the Wind (a borrowed line)

The non-breeze awoke me,
a dream-mare joined in.
Wondering why the commotion
in a mind on the begin.

The day as such, the usual,
although side trip took me there,
to finish what was still undone
with deadline made aware.

Too hot the ride, my hair on up,
thirst a partaking need.
Parked and walked on down the street
to quench a hunger feed.

There I sat, with dangling feet,
no bar to rest their wear.
Addicted to the sound of words
in need of companion care.

Listened to the nonsense of,
breathed in the smoke filled room.
Anything to make time pass
the heat adding to gloom...

Of day in waiting for the rain
to paint my world in wet.
But after all it is July,
the summertime in sweat.

Then it came, the darkened clouds
enough to cool the mind.
Walking back between the drops
collecting thoughts I find...

A moment's few to pass the time
until I reached the door.
Opening and hoping that
my energy is more.

Yes, driven by the winds of time,
rough winds of summer's day
comparing to the changing course
of life along its way.

M

Sounds rather familiar….
[a slice of ‘everypoet’-dejavu perhaps?!]:

“Addicted to the sound of words
in need of companion care.”

I am particularly fond of:

“darkened clouds
enough to cool the mind.
Walking back between the drops
collecting thoughts…”

fine ending!:

“...driven by the winds of time,
rough winds of summer's day
comparing to the changing course
of life along its way (!)”

Applause!!

I look at children and I wish I could bottle the energy they have

and they don't seem to mind the weather at all either

I love your word play.
You caught me and didn't let go.

Thanks for stopping by misc, I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Dixie, well it's finally finished so that is one thing off my mind.

A, thank you for the read...I live in a town  with 2 taverns,  but  don't frequent them very much. Sometimes when the heat gets to me, I walk on down...just to cool off and hear the latest town news.
