        "More Than a Lover"

So many things I wish that I had said
before I lay me down to sleep at night.
While visions and emotions fill my head
I toss and turn with plans to make it right.
Yet still the mundane world holds tight the key
and blocks the dreamworld beauty so sublime.
Slow down I cry and let me just be me.
Oh, let me find the words please, just in time.

Please guide my thoughts and show my tongue the way.
So I don’t hurt the soul that I adore.
Do help me find the words I need to say.
To keep her loving friendship ever more.
She means more than a lover to me now.
A friend much more than that she’ll always be.
I wish that I could make her see some how,
the friend I love and what she means to me.

this 'write' is grand-fine and superbly meaningful,
emotive Romanticism!

[a wonderful 'read'...thank you!]

sustained applause!!

P.S.: Great choice of 'P.I.P. "UserName" (ID)
       too!

I come back to this because it really says a lot...sometimes when someone leaves us we have so much to say...but they don't really want to receive it...our heart has no one to share our emotions with...and that is the sadness of a missed love...James

James - Thank you for your kind words. The heart often whispers its song in poetry.

K20Z3 - Thank you for the read and welcome to PiP.

Dixie - I too like the rhyme scheme. Sometimes the music just rolls off the tongue if my muse is so inclined. Thank you for your kind words.
