The Sycamore and the Wind

Now that the season has dissolved
The zest of autumn bliss
There still remains the whisper
Of a soft enchanting kiss

The winds are dancing in and out
Among the naked trees
Long fingered limbs are bending to
The swirl of every breeze

November gusts that chill the night
Are whistling in the dark
And sigh a sigh that will embrace
The breadth of limb and bark

Two lovers intertwining
In the darkness as they spin
And whisper as they dance the night
The sycamore and wind

Do not embrace winter so soon, dear Lady...
we've yet to hear the summer dog's sigh...

The Sycamore and the Wind make such soulful music and you orchestrated it with such a lovely, poetic sigh.

Love to you, La Liz,

Dear Liz...I've heard the music of this dance...it's almost as lovely as your poem.

LovelyLizzyLady~

When my Sycamore stood 'nekid'
She shivered in goose-bumped fright ...
Now in the Spring, fully clothed,
She dances merrily with Sir Wind
Through the day and night~

LOVE THIS piece, lady~

I love love loved this. Beautiful painting of words.

In the sight of Love, fear isn't even as great as a single hair:  in the law of Love, everything is offered as a sacrifice

Thank God for those folks who can truly write!

This poem was most wonderful to read!

long-sustained applause!!
[a poetic standing-ovation!]

I especially LOVE the ending:

"Two lovers intertwining
In the darkness as they spin
And whisper as they dance the night
The sycamore and wind (!)"
