Nocturnal Interruption

Soulless windows invite nightmares
to slip through the cracks
of my sleeping eyelids

Soft air whispers terror’s song,
smirking as I fight the waking time
Remaining locked in the limbo
of past and present,
night and day

until the mind rebels
and wakeful, watchful eyes
gaze into night’s shadows

whoa, Alison, this gave me chills, beautifully articulated...yet suspensful and alluring, dark...
enjoyed....

Wow! How very powerful the night can that can haunt us... wonderfully expressed here, aziza... liked it.
