You can not see the wind blow,

yet you see the evidence in the trees!

You can not see The Holy Spirits Presence,

yet when He fills you,

you may fall to your knees!

You may not see Jesus Christ Face right now,

yet He is as real as you and me!

YOU MUST BELIEVE AND HAVE FAITH!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for!

It's the evidence of things not yet seen!

I truly wish this type of 'write' (no matter how fine) was
'saved' for the "Spiritual Journeys #2" kind of 'forum'!

[I don't "do" Atheistic; Agnostic; Adult; or even
  'excessively explicit Realism' writes; etc...
nevertheless, I believe that if they are excluded
from an 'open' forum and/or directed to other
forums 'reserved' for specific genre of 'writes'
...then this type of write should also be
  similarly 'redirected']

I have to agree with SecondhandDreampoet, as I've had one of my "adult" posts taken down.

However, I think everything should be allowed.  Let's think "free speech".  I have my "adult" poem ready.

ILJ:

I love this type of poetry.  I hope you continue to write and post more of it.
AND-
I must whole-heartedly disagree with the first two critics.
Words are words, and poetry is poetry.
There is nothing offensive about what you have written
And it is beautiful poetry about a beautiful subject.
If the critics are offended… don’t read it.
And for Heaven’s sake… don’t comment.
Maybe your comments belong on another “forum”

I agree with you Robert & 2ndhand.  You don't go to a steak house to eat chinese food. Every write is a little bit one way or another to a particular genre, so, the Open Forum concept,  but when a write is totally dedicated to a particular forum...that's where it should be.  Freedom is only free when it's not imposing on others - so put it in the proper forum....and f l y, my friends....

Hello Stacey,

With all due respect to our well-meaning members who've offered their advice, please allow me to clarify our PiP Guidelines.

The Open Forum is just what its title indicates.  It is OPEN to any and all poetic postings that adhere to our general guidelines.  The only work that we insist be posted elsewhere is that which is mature in content and should be submitted to the appropriate area (to maintain our family orientation).

Works that are written by others or condone/exemplify violence or illegal activities are not to be posted on PiP at all.

This poem is wonderful, and as long as it's yours, it is welcome in Open or in any forum you choose to post it.

Thank you for sharing it with us..

The name of this forum should then be changed to something like
'Family forum' or 'Child Safe' forum; etc...rather than 'Open'...
if only CERTAIN types of 'specialty focus' writes...such as (alleged):
'adult' and/or atheistic/agnostic and/or anything even highly suggestive
of 'excessively' graphic/explicit ‘direct realism’ content; etc. are
censored/deleted and/or directed to other (allegedly 'more
appropriate') forums...while 'religious-specific' writes are NOT
'redirected' elsewhere!

Bruce,

The secret here seems to be that the entire forum is limited to descriptions of people and activities that fall within the “accepted” moral values of the vast majority of society.

The rest of humanity is excluded, in particular those on the fringes of society.

I don’t particularly approve of that view of humanity, as it excludes many of my friends and relatives, but I can live with it to a certain extent.

I have to admit, it does hurt me deeply, that many of my people are not acceped as being human here.

I didn't know a religious poem wasn't "Child Safe."

Bob, there is no real secret here. This is meant to be a family friendly website. You post your work in the family friendly section, so you must adhere to its rules. If you wish to discuss this realm of humanity that you feel is so neglected here, they have several Mature forums that you can enjoy.

Ed,

Please read what Nan said:

"Works that are written by others or condone/exemplify violence or illegal activities are not to be posted on PiP at all."

One of my poems has already been deleted from a PIP "mature" section.

As I said, I can live with the rules.

Well, rules are rules. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

I'm sure there are other websites that are less austere in the region of mature/explicit content.

I've never seen a poem of yours that was explicit in content so maybe there's another side of you I'm missing.

Have a good one Bob.

can someone call themselves then UserID:
“I hate Jesus” and post an ‘anti-religious’ specific
‘write’ called “anti-Hebrews 11-1” in the (alleged) ‘Open’ forums?!....

or does that get automatically banned or sent to some ‘adult’ forum…
even if it contains no definitive 'adults only' language or themes?!

…the Closing of Minds…and, ultimately entire societies…(specifically
the demise of ‘democracies’) often begins with ‘little things’ in tiny
‘street corner’ (forums) of expression.

Secondhanddreampoet,

The term “adult” is almost always a misnomer.

First, I'd like to welcome "I Love Jesus" to Pip. So...welcome.

I tend to post a variety of poetry too, and I also prefer posting in Open poetry to other forums because of that.

I also happen to enjoy a style of religious ritual that is a self-styled employment composed of many other religious rites, so I don't have a problem with your post, m'self. And now if I may, could I ask that any further discussion regarding this be moved to discussion forum? (That took me awhile to learn too, so I mean no offense to anyone here about their opinions, but we do have an Alley where arguments are more appropriately posted.)

Welcome to the forum, I Love Jesus. And this Wiccan says that Jesus is just alright with her too.

Bruce, this is not a religious site but there are many people, including myself, on here that are religious. (If it was, "JesusChristPose" would've been banned long ago.) And as long as the poem does not cross the guidelines, it cannot and will not be deleted. Now if a User by the name of "I hate Jesus" came on here and started to only write about why he/she hates Jesus, then he/she would probably be ignored by most of the people. But his/her work, as long as it follows the rules will not be deleted.

Why are you making such a big deal out of this?

Me too John, but if you're going to write devotional poetry about Santa, please keep it confined to the Santa forum.

Well old man
So you’ve finally come
I suspect the gifts
Are in much arrears

So I should tell you
Before you open
That crimson bag

My dream of toys
Has changed considerably
Over all these years

Hi Stacey my friend, I just loved this write of yours, you have many friends and I must say, I would have missed this if not posted within this forum, as this is the main forum I visit each day, lovely to get comments on work, but I believe they should be kind and respectful, we could all add nasty words and vent frustrations, but why would we here. It amazes me, but we’ve all got our opinions, enjoy your belief Stacey and share away my friend, for you have more supporters than foe and better life than some will know.

Have a wonderful day my friend and be well.
