Timescape

Yesterday, the doorbell rang
while I was on the phone.

The knocking rhythmed more than once,
the other side unknown.

Phobia controls my will
to check and see who is there.

Waiting till the car had gone
stepped out and found on chair

A birthday wish, surprising me
a dozen roses red.

Their thoughtfulness came just in time
to weave a happy thread

Into my life that sometimes stalls
and fills the worry pail.

But in a moment cares were gone
and my thoughts began to sail

To happier times, those in the past
and knowing that for me

Tomorrow offers more to come
with each new day I see.

M
~~Thank You~~

Yes, it was a wonderful surprise I almost missed, since I rarely open my door to anyone unless I am expecting someone.

Thanks
M
