Mid-day finds a weakened heart
   feeling cast aside
as amber hues collide
in shadow's fall;
proverbial rose glasses
shatter upon parched
once-verdant landscapes.
No peace comes
in the moment
of discovery
that all is not
as it seems.
Sunset is close, I fear.
The setting moments
may not be
the ending
of true love's
endless dream.

a painful write with vivid imagery...
i've come to find that true love doesn't die with the setting sun of hard times... it endures, as it surely will for you.

Kacy,
But alas the sun rises. Tears will cleanse the heart and if all else fails there is my hand of freindship. Peace.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I love the image of amber hues colliding
in falling shadows; however,

I am particularly fond of the line:

"No peace comes
in the moment
of discovery"

[my life has been rather a series of
'epiphanies' with that feeling as the
    typical consequence]

Applause!!

Martin, thanks for reading.
Moonkist, 'tis true. I intend for love to prevail.
Kathy, thanks for spending a moment here.
Larry, hugs to you. I'm ok, 'tis mostly just the 'poetry' of a frustrating afternoon.
Bruce, you are so gentle and kind. Thank you, my dearest poet.

You know - this is such a keeper.  It draws me to read and reread - and savor each word as I feel the rose colored glasses dim.  And, underlying that feeling, I know that they will shine again.

Frustration comes easy, I think, as we expect life to hold a bit more treasure for us as we age.

Thoughts gives sway to premonition
not always of the heart's volition ~
I pause, and read the sadness there,
sigh, and offer up a little prayer
that evening found in somber hue
give way to dawn more gloriously blue. ~ Karen

Thank you, dear poets! Sometimes, day of personal frustration generates a universal emotional moment worth putting to pen.
