Landis with his father,
Walking like spades
Through the streets
Dirt ridden,
Yellow stage.

As they walk,
Their hair learn
Each others curls,
As their skin
Listens to each
Others pores
Glistening off of the suns rooftop.

The sun watches,
Their cheeks brush
Off the blue and yellow
That slides through
The streets reservoir,
Of birds chasing
Spirits through
Their sign language verbs.

Landis’s father,
Torches the net
With a flick
Of the wrist.
The ball spirals down,
Just has it had done
Every Saturday afternoon.

Landis vaults into
A room so small,
He can remember
How he and his father
Rejoiced on the nights of fall.

Landis remembers,
Driving down the
Dirt ridden,
Yellow stage.
