I stare at the ceiling
listen to the tick of clock
surrounding me in this silence
solitude and

  memories..

           precious moments shared

and oh God, how it hurts
this aching
twists my heart
driving deeper this

missing

something so simple
as the sound
of your voice.

It is then
that I close my eyes,
hear the music
of our yesterdays song

and like a balm
it soothes
with an unspoken promise
of soon we shall be

together again
  with fingertips entwined

             touching tomorrow.

No more hangin' on to the past
No more filling up my tomorrows
With yesterday's sorrows
No more lookin' over my shoulder {T.Tritt}

Drauntz, not in one breath at all, probably
more like several with lots of bad words under
my breath.. before it is finally completed. Thank you

Sea, yes........I KNOW you do and thank you
for listening to me whine.

James, thank you so much for stopping by.

Donna

Maybe not in one breath, but I couldn't breathe as I read this.  It is lovely - just lovely.

Donna,
Nothing provides hope like the courage to dream. Well done.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I Loved this Donna, and your new photo is gorgeous! The darker hair suits you!

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”
