I put my little change in the bank
and hope for a better tomorrow.
I ask who I can thank
for this bitterness and sorrow

My inspiration is my madness
and insanity of living today
with nowhere left to run to
and nothing left to say.

Love be it grand, but fake.
I see the choices I must make.

And it tears me up inside.
I am only bound and tied

ready for sleep.

Dixie - maybe we make our choices when we sleep.  Bit of a scary thought that because then we have orchestrated whatever happens to us.  On the other hand, however, we perhaps praise ourselves as well.  Each obstacle we overcome makes us deserving of that.  Sleep well!

The change might be a token
But still the heart gets broken
Love and hate is spoken
Life it has it all

Hope beget desire
Love we all admire
Satan stokes the fire
And leaves us all to fall

So self and dream a wander
Passed the barn down yonder
In tears so often ponder
The want that I recall

Sleep well Dixie, enjoyed your write and inspiration, you describe your feelings so very well my friend. The prince awaits.

Sometimes when we wake up refreshed, we see things clearer and other times, we just want to curl back up for awhile..May your sleep be restful and your mornings be insightful.  Nicely penned.

I ask who I can thank
for this bitterness and sorrow

It somehow seems worse when we're exhausted, doesn't it? And, of course... that's usually when sleep chooses to elude us.  *S*

Powerful write, dear lady!!
