In a Mirror

You search for love only to find it illusive –
a shimmer lost behind a mirror of uncertainty.

Or you can wait for love expecting it to shatter you -
and hope someone will pick up the beveled pieces.

It’s doubt that confounds you
You want the reflection of your dreams to make the first move.

Perhaps they too are lost in the mirrors gaze…..
   Someone has to give -
   Why not you?

I really like this one.
Strong and grounding...beveled edges particularly got to me.
Happy 4th of July.

Kiss the mirror for me for this provocative piece of philosophical poetry!

True love cannot be found in an illusive house of mirrors.

Hugs to you, R 'n P,

EA

A wonderful insight on the reflection of love, sounds like the seven years of bad luck coming into play as well, your message to make the move yourself and not wait for the dream is what we should all do, but often dreams can not be matched.
Thank you for sharing this work, I did enjoy its content and message..
