Of all the tricks of memory, the cruelest
      Is accuracy.

~ Geoffrey Brock, The Orpheus Variations

memory instructs me in the ways of pain
asks of me
do you remember when he called you
mi corazon
said
you are… love

do you remember when he asked are you magic
or a shaman

memory demands of me
you must think of the way his feet look naked
vulnerable
how his mouth tastes
when he has finished smoking
the look of his chest
thumping heart beats
the smell of his head

you must remember how he always said
I love you more
‘cause I am bigger
only love can warm
and baby
… we are stellar

then you must remember this

he is

gone

They say that every cell of our body holds our memorys...
A positive attitude goes a long way toward making good memorys...
For example a failed relationship is not a disaster, it is a learning experience...and perhaps we will fare better the next time if we learn some important lessons...James

memories are the necklace
we wear around our hearts

some days they are stone
some days pearls

so happy to see you and beautiful as always

Yes, I too, have memories. ~ But for my own peace of mind, I keep only the good ones. However, there are times, by doing so, it only makes me miss him more.

Your ink is always so tender and honeysuckle sweet ~ and is such a pleasure to read.

Hugs with love,

LA

Those last lines are so accurate... for those are the memories that sneak up on you and kick sand in the teeth of all the happy ones.

Beautiful, touching write!!

What we remember seems even more priceless when a loved one is gone, for it keeps their love near us.  I am sorry for the heartache.
