Peel away red for me,
or let me bite into it
so I may taste the bitter
along with the sweet

I've lived long enough, now
to appreciate ripening

Pretend I'm color blind,
but don't imbue me
with fast-food cartoon shades
Such hues insult my gut need
for slow habits:
To eat with polished fingers,
to sway from the effect of bubbles

Please use yellow
in small bursts
Citrus is like that
on trees for a reason
Small coins and slivers
from a distance
Sparks that make lips squint
up-close

Purple is pretty,
but it forces confessions
I'm careful to notice it
in the fields, believing
it is forbidden to trample
The vine or briar
blackens my tongue
with a darkness that spells out
on occasion of sticky

I've tasted plenty enough, now
to understand Eve

Ah, blue: Your eyes,
have swallowed me whole.
To willingly know your blue
is to know miles
of sky-gardens
that do not produce
as much as consume

Green, green with me always,
beyond soft grasses and checkered sands,
picking blanket spots
across now & there
All colors, subtle
compared to us

I hope everyone finds a perfect blanket spot this summer.

Somy~ Yes, just like our willow Thanks luv.

D~ Aww, poor little love bugs. Oh well, at least they are happy when they go. Ride on Word daddy. Lovins.

RDB~ I'm happy you had a look see. Thanks for smiling on me today. Huggins.

Rick~ Actually, I wrote this on a hillside after I blocked traffic for just a few seconds. I stopped to take a picture of a rainbow. Full on in perfect light, cayman-blue sky, but the air seemed to possess a lemon haze due to the storm clouds filtering the sun. And all I had was my cell phone to capture it. I tried, with not so good results. ROYGBIV. Idigo and violet had to fit in with the purple passion shades and berry colors. How very perceptive of you Rick. Big hugs.

love,
reg

~ Keep on tasting, and seeing, feeling and sharing the colours of life. ~ and I now have a better understanding of both Eve AND you!

Happy summering!

Love how you describe yourself...beautiful and pleasantly asthetic.
