Today I ate your heart, it was good, sweet, so delicious...mmm! Red and juicy, moist, flavored with love, Salty but not bitter, filled me up. quinching my hunger. The taste I remember, like butter on a hot baked bun, So warm, soothing, like nothing I have tasted before. I have been saving it, to eat on a rainy day, so I would feel full, happy inside. Some parts remain, for me to eat later, Pieces and chunks, your heart is so big, one cannot consume it in a day, Ironic, how it fits perfectly, together between my sugar coated lips. Two kinds of sweetness, melt toegether, we are chocolate and creme, Later my stomach hurt, I begain to puke, and puke, It must have been, tainted, with love, from another, I ate your heart today, and died, my soul became poisioned, With hurt and pain, sometimes, food for the soul can kill you. J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.” |

Drauntz, Well at first I had the feeling to write this like all my other love poems, happily ever after, but near the end, I became a little humorous, and thought, well sometimes love isn't all its cracked up to be, and that is another poem within itself... Thanks ~ ~ARH |

I couldn't let you eat my heart. It serves another purpose... to warm the heart of another on a cold dark day. Or to warm the body of another when everything is going the right way. Perhaps, it can warm the soul, leaving a feeling that stays. Peace. Love. Forgiveness. |
