     Dreams of Lost Love

In a merciless cosmos
on this wilderness night,
through the star-taper forest
shines a mystical light…

the crisp-moon is drifting
past all purpose of men,
through the canyons and vistas
carved by rain and the wind…

to an inscrutable ocean
beyond all reason and rhyme,
where dreams of ‘lost love’
are transcending time!

The first stanza sets the scene and the tone of  the poem, perfectly:

"In a merciless cosmos
on this wilderness night,
through the star-taper forest
shines a mystical light…"

A part of the love that we have known in the past, remains with us always.

Sweet Dreams, Dear Dreamer Poet!

Secondhanddreampoet,

This works well, with an odd rhyme scheme I don't know about.

Thanks to all who commented on this particular 'write'!

[As a (rather obvious?!) 'incurable Romantic',
this one was kinda 'special' to me!]

Night- light
Men- Wind
Rhyme- Time

I think you matched Men and Wind brilliantly

We are so full of wind when it comes to romantic recollections

Still must bash on for the umpteenth time looking for my place in that ocean of love
