           Ruins of Lebanon

The evening creeps in shadows
as a mountain-sunset’s
amber-desert afterglow
warms and teases broken columns,
(lost-city sentinels of forgotten men)
marching in place and wonder…
through the eternal sands
and fugacious whims
of Time’s indifference,
attempting to remember
some small point or purpose
for their endless vigilance!

I quite like the thought of endless vigilance...

How many times I have waited for something that is never going to happen...

ie like the kids making me a cup of tea... whoops that just sprung to mind.

Vigilance can be a game of lottery.
