Arresting
a life of hurried rush
to take a few moments
to hear, the quiet of hush

reflecting
on thoughts of yesterdays seen
disturbed slightly by ripples
of where I have been

fearing
the crash of roaring waves
those same currents I now
try hard to embrace

believing
my feet are on the right path
this journey, in stone
has not yet been cast

promising
self to hear the hush
to own each moment
to feel the rush

pausing

to live.

No more hangin' on to the past
No more filling up my tomorrows
With yesterday's sorrows
No more lookin' over my shoulder {T.Tritt}

"pausing

to live."

no kidding...have to pause all the "stuff" going on...sometimes just to breathe...and be.
