Forever In Your Heart

Oh, soul of my soul,
life of my life,
death of my death,
hear my cry,

Oh, heart of my heart,
breath of my breath,
the sting in my eye,

Oh, love of my love,
mind of my mind,
depart not from me,

Oh, dream of my dream,
song of my song,
I will never be free.

A Chained heart-
locked with your love
can only be opened,
with your key.

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”

I am not trying to be smart, only thinking of a time when I thought these thoughts, and she lost the key...James

Nice poem, but I have a disagreement with the end.  I don't think that only "you" can open the lock, but also your true love.  Don't you think?

Very nice.
