At night I leave my
Shoes undone so my
Feet can feel the run
Of the wind trading gasps
With the Southern bird.

I jumped in-between
The hills,
Draping my hands
To cloth the green
Molds of each hill
That transcends the last.

When my feet run,
It’s as if my hand
Is my bargaining chip,
To a land so quiet,
My body hums
With numbness.

A numbing,
As if my head
Could be sitting
Next to me,

Alongside the Southern bird.

"feel the run
Of the wind trading gasps"
oh, my feet felt this line
and smiled
