My Legacy By Paul Wilson When I am dead and gone I pray my memory lingers on When I am but a fading memory I pray you will remember my poetry Poetry opened up a brand new world for me It unlocked my mind it held the magic key We found each other late in life my muse and I I hope and pray he finds another poet when I die I’ve written of joy heartache and sorrow Yesterday… today and tomorrow My heart bleeds words shared with you During hard times poetry has carried me thru Call it fate destiny or what you will This road I’ve traveled has been uphill A box where feelings are locked away The keeper I will never betray I hope my poetry helps those in need To still the hearts of those that read Make the oceans serene on a tempest night Give all strength to win the fight Poems I leave behind… a special part of me I shared with all… they are my legacy Many left unwritten this I know Tomorrow I may not hear the rooster crow ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |
