behind my mind with soft sounds
I heard your voice often
always quieter than the rest
who were pleased to be brassy

I tried to associate eyes
before I met yours face to corner
and imagined green or amber
with year around lightening

but yours just peeked upwards
waiting to be invited to laughter
like a virgin before her gown
standing at a stranger's window

you must have read my mind then
as I turned to hurry somewhere
before I had to explain my hands
folded that way suggesting prayer

for something perhaps ungodly

Have mercy man...
D this just touches...

right there.

What I have loved so much about reading you is that even now, after all of this time I still see something new in your words each time I read and I still learn so much from the way that you write.

If you'd bind it all up in some really awesome worn out leather, I'd buy it baby.

No more hangin' on to the past
No more filling up my tomorrows

No more lookin' over my shoulder {T.Tritt}

I hope when she was done peeking -- she laughed from the depth of her belly, head back, relishing the joy of the moment.

You know, this poem is incredible. I read it once and thought it was -- and then thought .. nah, it ain't that damned good!  (grins) So, I came back to read it 40 or 50 more times --

And

I was flat out wrong.  It IS that good.

Yep, it is.

D, m'friend, what is given to others can not help but to be returned.  It is a continual circle.

Dark Stranger,

I couldn't figure out what this line meant:

"before I met yours face to corner"

...minding your comment...

be ruined then...
because this is how
you leave all of us...

ruined, and wanting more.

Goodness, DS...
and here I am near the heart of Texas, and NOW you make it swelter!
