Just A Sigh

Forgetting themselves
Last donned in the ghostly glow
Of an ambiguous moon

Leaves dance
Carefree in the whisper of the wind

Dressing up in summer’s subtlety
Though inquisitive; scurried, pleaded and pinned

White wing to sing, red hood to beat

Forgetting themselves
In the green canopy pleat

Trickles, my mind
Left to wander with discover

How I missed the bluebird wonder
Of a newly planted field

Aloud to be lost in the music
Brushing past, rain’s fate is sealed

Lost in the twirl of the dreams that they drop

The leaves pay no mind, to the peace that I find
Cheerfully facing now sunlit tree top

As they sway in the drink of a thick white sky

Forgetting themselves to the questions and answers
When why just a sigh given after

I am especially fond of:

“Forgetting themselves….

Leaves dance
Carefree in the whisper of the wind…”

and:

“How I missed the bluebird wonder
Of a newly planted field…”

fine imagery!!

Oh, I love it when those leaves dance like that! Nicely written imagery!
