.

The sun sets
Just above the low hills

There are flights of birds
Crossing the Western sky
Crickets have already begun
Their final nocturnal symphonies
Among the weeds

Holding books
Against your breasts
You talk on subjects
Which have no relevance
To anything learned in school

And I couldn’t care less
That I’m already late for class
Immersed in the colors
Of your eyes

.
