A Voice that Whispers in the Wind

I tremble in the darkness, I cry when I’m afraid
I sometimes run away when I know I should have stayed.
I hear the rolling thunder and as on my knees I bend
I hear a distant small still voice, that whispers in the wind.

“Be still and know that I am God”, I hear it in my heart
I try to pray, I’m still afraid, I don’t know where to start
“Trust in me” I know that voice, I’ve heard it there before
And slowly, ever gently, calm envelopes my very core.

I’m thankful for the darkness, for then I can appreciate the light
I go to God in earnest prayer, knowing He is right
I feel His gentle nearness, no matter where I’ve been
And if I’m quiet long enough, I hear Him in the wind.

Lovely words to express a wonderful sentiment and this is almost a prayer. Good stuff

Deanna, I think you write for many.  Even though we "know" we still sometimes need to hear and feel for it to be real to us.  I think I forgot to say, "Welcome" so, "Welcome to pip.  Hope you enjoy yourself here as I have done."
