Words will be forgotten
and deeds a sometimes dream
when I hear the laughter
of the “been there, done that”.

But I’m not unmindful of
the joke of mortal life
rolling, rolling, unfulfilled
into the shadow lands
where laughter greets the agony
of having lived and loved.

In time and in the by-and-by
I too will laugh amused
but the knowing no reprieve
from wishes, hopes, and needs
stuck within the framework
of the one I am today.

And there’s that glue of love
like a mind unbreakable
holding everything combined
and fussing like a little child
for intense visual impact
to kill off the attachments.

This is you and this is me
involved in thought, word, deed,
until laughter overtakes a need,
and we find a wish came true
in a manner not the same
as we hoped for every day!

I like the last stanza particularly "this is in me and in you" line. Very well done.

Ah, you took my breath away with that.
Great writing.
